Tõnu Laak
Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of Cresco and Cresco Securities

Mr Laak is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of investment and holding company Fablio, member of Supervisory Board of high-tech company Clifton and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Estonian national airline Estonian Air.

Mr Laak is one of the founders of Hansabank, the largest banking group in the Baltic States (currently Swedbank). He has held executive positions in ferry line Estline, Refit/Europcar, and Salva Insurance. Mr Laak is founder and life-time member of the Estonian Olympic Committee. He was delegate of the People’s Congress of the USSR (1988–1991).

Mr Laak holds Diploma in Finance from Tartu University (1974) and degree in International Affairs from Academy of Social Sciences in Moscow (1983). He has attended CONTEL Banking School of Dallas-Tallinn-Helsinki and Swiss-Re Insurance Companies Management Course in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Rein Müllerson, Professor
Member of the Supervisory Boards of Cresco and Cresco Securities

Prof. Müllerson is the president of Tallinn University Law Academy (academic successor of University Nord) from 2010. He was rector of University Nord in 2009–2010.

In 1994–2009 Prof. Müllerson chaired International Law at King’s College of London University where he was also the Director of the MA Programme on International Peace & Security. During 2004–2005 Rein Müllerson was the United Nations Regional Advisor for Central Asia. In 1992–94 he was Visiting Centennial Professor of the London School of Economics and Political Science.

In 1991-92 Prof. Müllerson was First Deputy Foreign Minister of Estonia and in 1988–92 a member of the UN Human Rights Committee. Since 1995 he is a member of the Institut de Droit International (Geneva). In 2007 he was acknowledged as Marco Polo Fellow by Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Prof. Müllerson is the author of eleven books and more than 200 articles and reviews on international law and politics. His latest books are Human Rights Diplomacy (Routledge, 1997), Ordering Anarchy: International Law in International Society (Kluwer Law International, 2000), Central Asia: Chessboard and Player in the New Great Game (Colombia University Press and Kegan Paul, 2007), and Democracy – A Destiny for Humankind? (Nova Publishers, 2009).

Prof. Müllerson gained cum laude Diploma in Law from Moscow State University in 1976. He received Candidate of Law (PhD) degree in 1979 and Doctor of Law (LLD) degree in 1985.


Arno Köörna, Professor Emeritus

Arno Köörna is a member of Estonian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Humanities and Central European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is also a member of the World Futures Studies Federation, International Standing Committee for the Human Rights Education IPV (Italy), Ost-West Wirtschaftsklub (München), Primo Viri Standing Committee and the Scientific Council of International Centre for Research and Training of Black Sea University Foundation.

Since 2005 Academician Arno Köörna is professor emeritus of University Euroacademy (previously EuroUniversity) in Tallinn.

In 1965 Arno Köörna became vice director of Institute of Economics of Estonian Academy of Sciences, later on served as director of the same organization. During 1973-1994 he was a secretary of science, vice president and for four years the president of Estonian Academy of Sciences.

The main fields of Academician Köörna’s research are Estonian economic history, comparative analysis of economic mechanisms, economics of quality, scientific economics and innovation. He has published 179 scientific articles, 10 monographs and 3 schoolbooks.

Arno Köörna graduated the faculty of history in Tartu University in 1955. 1961 he obtained MSc in Economics, 1970 PhD of Economics and he is professor since 1972.
